At Key Stage 4 most students study five compulsary subjects to GCSE level - English Language, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies and Learning for Life and Work.
In addition four other subjects are selected from option blocks. These may be made up of GCSE level subjects, BTEC level 2 subjects, or Occupational Studies which have equivalent status with GSCE. The combinations chosen are guided by pupil interest, levels or ability and possible career choices.
